John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate 2 to release in cinemas on 12 May, 2021

Makers of John Abraham-starrer Satyameva Jayate 2 on Monday announced that the action-drama will release theatrically on 12 May, 2021.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Emmay Entertainment, the Milap Zaveri-directed film is a sequel to the 2018 hit. It also stars Divya Khosla Kumar.

The makers released a poster featuring Abraham where he carries a plow over his shoulders. The gashes on Abraham’s body ooze out the tricolour instead of red.

Zaveri said Eid is the perfect occasion to release the film as Satyameva Jayate 2 is a celebration of “action, music, dialoguebaazi, patriotism and heroism.”

“With Bhushan sir, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani backing me once again, I can promise next year on May 12 we will do our best to deliver a festive bonanza for all audiences,” the director said in a statement.

The film is a departure from its original Mumbai setting and will see Abraham fighting corruption in Lucknow. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the filming is going to begin from next month. A Times of India report says the actor’s character will be seen quashing corruption in “all spheres from the police to politicians, industrialists, and the common man.”

Zaveri said the decision to change shooting location to Lucknow gave the team a chance to make it “more massy” with a larger canvas.

“Visually also Lucknow adds to the scale and grandeur. The action of this film is gonna be ten times more dynamic, heroic and powerful,” he added.

Filmmaker-producer Nikkhil Advani said the success of Satyameva Jayate has encouraged them to make the sequel bigger and better.

Varun Dhawan’s Street Dancer 3D trailer to be attached with Dabangg 3; clip’s digital release on 18 December

The trailer of Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor’s upcoming film Street Dancer 3D will have its digital release on 18 December. It will also be showcased across cinemas, prior to the screening of Dabangg 3 on 20 December.

Previously, the Street Dancer’s trailer was scheduled to be out on 12 December, which is also producer Bhushan Kumar’s birthday.

Confirming the delay, director Remo D’Souza told Bollywood Hungama, “There’s lots of VFX and 3D stuff is happening and right now we are all working on that. I am keen to show the trailer to everybody and have been working round the clock to get it complete by then. It will be a proper two-three minute trailer. You can expect some amazing, never-seen-before dances in it – and something very special which I cannot reveal right now (sic).”

The report further adds that Kumar and D’Souza are reportedly keen to have Salman Khan at the trailer launch.

The makers have previously called Street Dancer 3D “India’s biggest dance film”. D’Souza had also said that it is unrelated to the ABCD franchise. Dhawan and Kapoor will once again share screen space after 2015’s ABCD 2.

Mumbai Mirror had reported that Kapoor trained in five different dance forms – Afro, Krump, Locking and Popping, Animation Tutting and Urban. She joined the cast after Katrina Kaif opted out because of a scheduling conflict.

Shakti Mohan, Nora Fatehi, Prabhu Deva, Sonam Bajwa and Aparshakti Khurana also star in vital roles. Mohan will make her Bollywood debut with this feature. The first schedule took place in Amritsar after which, the cast and crew shot in London.

BigilTeaser: The promo of Thalapathy Vijay’s sports drama to release on THIS date?

Some of them even posted the screenshots of Archana Kalpathi and Gayathrii Reddy’s insta stories saying that it will come out at 6 pm in the evening.

Since the film marks the reunion of director Atlee and Vijay after Mersal, the expectations are sky-high from the film. Nayanthara has worked with Vijay in Sivakasi and Villu in the past and this will be her third collaboration with the actor. While the film is still in the production process, it has already achieved a huge milestone by cracking the satellite rights deal with a leading channel worth Rs 50 crore. Well, this a huge price for a regional film and the superstardom of Thalapathy Vijay is definitely the reason behind it.

The film also stars Vivek in a key role, who is known for working in films like Sivaji, Run, Saamy and many others. There were reports that Michael will be the character of Thalapathy Vijay in the film but the makers have not confirmed it yet. Bigil is bankrolled by AGS productions. It will clash with Karthi’s Kaithi and Vijay Sethupathi’s Sanga Thamizhan at the box office during Diwali.

Sethi said in a statement: “Once Again is a lyrical ode to the fundamental and basic human emotions including love. Besides focusing on aspects such as loneliness in the urban cities, it depicts a story that resonates with everyone.

“This has reflected through the responses received by the film so far. I am extremely happy about the film’s release through Vkaao and positive that theatrical audiences will also identify and relate with the film.”

The release through Vkaao, a joint venture of PVR and Book-My-Show for movies on demand, will begin with a special screening in Mumbai on 8 December in PVR Juhu, followed by a question-and-answer session with the cast.

Padmavat: Manohar Parrikar says film’s Goa release will not be obstructed ‘if it has CBFC clearance’

If Padmavat has been given a censor certificate by the CBFC, then the Goa government does not have a problem in screening it in cinema halls, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said on 10 January.

Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

“If they have a censor certificate we do not have objection. If there is a law and order issue, we will look at it then,” Parrikar told reporters.

“As of now, we have not got any intimation about the film being released. If there is a censor certificate, we are not stopping it from release…If they come with a censor certificate with some modification, I do not see big reason why we should interfere into it,” Parrikar added.

Parrikar also said that the state police had expressed apprehensions about the film being screened in Goa during the peak tourism season in December, when a significant chunk of the uniformed personnel are busy discharging law and order duties.

He added that since the peak season was over, the apprehension was irrelevant. “Police report was for peak season. Peak season is over, so there is no problem,” Parrikar said. Increased tourist traffic volumes in December often results in chaos, especially from a law and order point of view.

The women’s wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party had objected to the screening of the film in Goa citing law and order problems and wrong portrayal of queen Padmini in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.

Meanwhile, the Karni Sena has also urged Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to stall the film’s release in Delhi.

After much controversy and delay, the Central Board of Film Certification finally certified Padmavat, clearing the path for its release in cinema halls scheduled for 25 January, however, an official confirmation by the makers is awaited.

Nawazuddin’s Monsoon Shootout will now release on 15 December; no clash with Tiger Zinda Hai

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s much awaited Monsoon Shootout is all set to hit the silver screen on 15 December, according to the latest poster of the film.

Poster of Monsoon Shootout.

The poster of the film fits in perfectly with its genre — a crime-thriller drama — with hues of blood red as the poster’s background, Siddiqui’s face (bruised, battered and scarred) in monochrome and Vijay Verma’s silhouette in red, the poster cuts a chilling picture.

The film was supposed to see a theatrical release almost four years ago, however the release repeatedly kept getting stalled. Siddiqui had shot for Monsoon Shootout immediately after Gangs Of Wasseypur.

“For almost a year we were travelling across festivals with the film and then we wanted to wait and release the film when we felt the time was right.  We had a successful release of Haraamkhor earlier this year and 2017 has proven to be a year when good content films were being accepted. So we feel now is the best time to release the film,” said Monsoon Shootout‘s producer Guneet Monga in a statement.

Monga and her production house Sikhya Entertainment is known for producing content-driven films like Masaan and Lunchbox, apart from Haraamkhor.

Monsoon Shootout is a crime thriller film starring Siddiqui, Vijay Verma and Tannishtha Chatterjee.

This film is about a policeman facing a life-altering decision when he must decide to shoot or not.

It is directed by Amit Kumar, who earlier made an award-winning short film called Bypass with Siddiqui and Irrfan Khan.

Raees’ release could be postponed as anti-Pakistan sentiment simmers; Kaabil clash averted?

As the sentiment against Pakistani artistes brims over, reports have emerged that the release date for Excel Entertainment’s Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Raees might be pushed back further.

Raees was originally meant to release during Eid 2016.

Shah Rukh Khan in 'Raees'

However, Salman Khan’s Sultan too was slated to arrive in theatres on the same day, and rather than st up a big box office clash, Excel, SRK and director Rahul Dholakia decided to postpone their film’s release to January 2017.

There was just one hitch though — the date they wanted had already been taken by Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil.

Industry analysts went into a tizzy wondering which of the two films would emerge the victor from this tussle.

However, it seems that Raees won’t be clashing with Kaabil after all, if the reports of it being postponed are indeed true.

Raees‘ leading lady, the Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, has come under attack from political parties like the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, which has said that artistes from across the border will not be allowed to live and work on Indian turf.

In this scenario — while the Raees release delay is still speculative and not confirmed — Excel and SRK may have decided that pushing their film until such time as bilateral tensions ease is the best possible policy.

This week, the MNS staged protests outside filmmaker Karan Johar’s office, demanding the ouster of Fawad Khan from his upcoming film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. ADHM, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and has a cameo by Fawad, is scheduled to release on 28 October.

On Friday, 30 September, the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association announced a ban on all Pakistani artistes and technicians from working in India. However, they said ongoing projects were exempt from the ban, including ADHM and Raees.

Krrish 4 release date changed; clash with Shah Rukh Khan-Aanand L Rai film averted

Box office clashes isn’t exactly good news for anybody, least of all the producers. While Diwali will see the mother of all box office clashes with Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil locking horns with Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay, there’s some respite coming in as another box office war has been averted.

srk hrithik

Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, whose production Krrish 4 was all set to release on Christmas 2018 alongside Shah Rukh Khan’s project with director Aanand L Rai, has decided to back out of the clash. The filmmaker stated that he arrived at this decision since Khan had announced his film earlier and it would be “unethical” for him to release the fourth instalment of his superhero film alongside.

Talking about it in an interview to Bombay Times , Roshan said, “It is unethical for me to release my film on this date as Shah Rukh has already announced is movie…We’re here to make films, not create controversies. As far as Shah Rukh is concerned, he is like a younger brother to me.”

However, the Raees vs Kaabil clash on Republic Day 2017 remains unaffected. Khan’s Raees was slated to hit the theatres on Eid this year with Salman Khan’s Sultan. But Shah Rukh Khan postponed Raees’ release toJanuary 26 – a date that had already been booked by the Roshans for the release of their upcoming thriller, Kaabil.

Roshan stated that he will not move Kaabil’s release date ahead as he had announced his project way before Khan.
